Uh oh! Someone got into the glitter!!

Today we hosted a playdate all about teeth, which didn't include glitter, yet the baby is covered in it!

Ahhh, the joys of having a crafty house! :)

What glittery projects are you working on?

The "ruined" dress (that should never have been)

So, you ever have one of those days when you thought you were doing the right thing (it was such a great idea!), only to find out that by doing said task, you failed miserably and made things worse?

(raising hand) Guilty as charged.

This past weekend we had to go to a family wedding, so I had the great idea that I would iron (yes, iron) my daughter's dresses. Because honestly, what is worse than a wrinkled party dress? A ruined party dress, that's what.

Soon, as you can see from the picture below, it said that I could use a warm iron. Clearly a warm iron doesn't mean turn the iron on and use it. Because that's what I did and before I knew it, the back of this adorable 100% polyester dress was wrinkling up from the heat. At least I had enough sense to iron it on the back of the dress.

But, I just had to see how bad it was, which means that I ended up ripping it. Which then lead to my next genious idea: liquid stitch!! I'll just fix it with liquid stitch! But, I couldn't find that darn liquid stitch!!

So I used tacky glue. And it looks ok. And no one noticed. Or at least they didn't tell me if they did.

Lesson learned: just send your kids to weddings with wrinkled clothes. If their smile is cute enough, no one will care!

Wedding Ceremony Fail

So, not only did I "ruin" my daughter's dress for a family wedding were supposed to attend on Saturday, on the way to the wedding, the kids fell asleep. All 3 of them. At one time.

Well played kids.

You see-normally I'd be in high heaven (3 sleeping kids? it's mama time!), but then I got stuck in the car, waiting for them to wake up. And I missed the ceremony.

And then one woke up. And she wasn't happy. Greaaaat.

And more on the "ruined" dress later.  It's one of those times when you thought you were doing the right thing, only it turned out to create a big mess. Should've left well enough alone! You'll see.

Blog updates!

Hello all!

I've decided to expand the blog with not only crafts, but recipes, household tips and musings on life. My hope is that you'll find some things on here that you want to do with your family, but at the very least, my hope is to brighten your day!

I'd love to hear your comments, and stay tuned for a new look to the blog, as well as an etsy store where you'll be able to buy bibs, blankets, skirts and more.
