The "ruined" dress (that should never have been)

So, you ever have one of those days when you thought you were doing the right thing (it was such a great idea!), only to find out that by doing said task, you failed miserably and made things worse?

(raising hand) Guilty as charged.

This past weekend we had to go to a family wedding, so I had the great idea that I would iron (yes, iron) my daughter's dresses. Because honestly, what is worse than a wrinkled party dress? A ruined party dress, that's what.

Soon, as you can see from the picture below, it said that I could use a warm iron. Clearly a warm iron doesn't mean turn the iron on and use it. Because that's what I did and before I knew it, the back of this adorable 100% polyester dress was wrinkling up from the heat. At least I had enough sense to iron it on the back of the dress.

But, I just had to see how bad it was, which means that I ended up ripping it. Which then lead to my next genious idea: liquid stitch!! I'll just fix it with liquid stitch! But, I couldn't find that darn liquid stitch!!

So I used tacky glue. And it looks ok. And no one noticed. Or at least they didn't tell me if they did.

Lesson learned: just send your kids to weddings with wrinkled clothes. If their smile is cute enough, no one will care!
