Tulle skirt upcycle

A few seasons ago I bought this dress from Target:

Cute, huh?

But....now that I'm a few years older,  I realized that I didn't like it as a dress, but it was in too good of shape to just get rid of it. And I'm terrrrrible at having a garage sale. Not gonna happen.

So, I decided to make it into a skirt!

I cut off the "top" of the dress, then sewed on some black 2 in. elastic for a waistband.

Easy, peasy.

And I love it!

Ta-da!

I love when I can upcycle something! Don't you?

HAve you upcycled anything lately? I'd love to hear about it!

T-shirt redo!

Tonight I also worked on embellishing a t-shirt for my daughter. I like how it turned out, but I feel like maybe it's missing something. Hmmm, I'm going to have her wear it tomorrow and then see!

Happy crafting and creating!

Fairy Wand

Feeing crafty again!

>Tonight I worked on an idea that I've had for awhile: a pretty fairy wand! I wrapped a dowel that I bought from Hobby Lobby with some ribbon (got on Christmas clearance-90% off-I couldn't believe it!) and used hot glue to secure it. I secured more ribbon on the top of the dowel and then glued a tulle "ball" that I made on top. Easy and I'm hoping my daughter loves it!
